lent day 25

Todays thought is short and sweet. Inspired by a tv drama I was watching which revolved around a cook in a kitchen in the 1700s.  She commented that despite using the same ingredients and the same equipment and measuring things precisely, timing things perfectly it was still always the case that every batch of baking, loaf, cake, stew, meal turns out slightly differently.   And that caught my attention.  And it got me thinking about how my three boys who are each made up of 50%  me and 50% Keith are all so different.  Even genetically identical twins are different.

So the thought for the day is simply this. God is endlessly and infinitely creative.  He takes the same 118  elements and makes absolutely everything we see from those ingredients.  No two plants, animals or people which have ever existed have been the same. Even mass produced machine made plastic items are microscopically different from each other (which is why forensic science can tell which fibre came from which carpet or which machine made the rope or the bin liner or whatever)

Everything is moving. Molecules and atoms and electrons. Every growing thing lives in slightly different conditions from its next door neighbour. Nothing on our Earth or in our solar system is static and permanent and identical.

Jesus however never changes. (Except of course He did change from the time of His birth to the time of His death. But from Ascension Day onwards He hasnt changed)  Which leads me to deduce that Jesus's resurrected body isnt made of molecules and atoms, electrons and protons but of something entirely different.  God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are different from each other and yet identical. 😁  There is something mysterious and mind expanding in all of this.  Hope I havent given you brain ache today .  😁
