Lent day 35
Rev 5 11Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. 12In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honour and glory and blessing!”
13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To Him who sits on the throne
and to the Lamb
be praise and honour and glory and power
forever and ever!”
14And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshipped.c
Just before this we see the Lamb who was slain taking the scroll from the occupant of the throne. At which point all of creation breaks out into praise and worship. As heaven is in eternity and outside time then Im fully expecting that whenever I get there this very scene will be playing out and I will be able to join in 😁 I wonder what it will sound like. I want to hear angels singing. But I get the feeling that somehow each voice of each creature and person and angel will be clearly distinguishable from every other. I think we will be able to hear the whales and dolphins singing and the tigers roaring and every bird singing. Every person who is still on earth will be singing praise ( every knee shall bow and every tongue confess) and even those who are under the earth ( those who have died, or those who are in hell??? ) will be singing.
I think the very definition of hell is to be suddenly aware of heaven and all of this amazing stuff that is going on in an atmosphere of love and acceptance and redemption and realise that you arent part of it.
(Rev 6 :9-17 Rev 19;1-10 Also describe the worship)
Rev19 11Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war. 12He has eyes like blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,c and His name is The Word of God.
14The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. 15And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter.d He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh:
After many chapters of prophecy regarding judgement and the end times we see Jesus as our conquering King riding out at the head of heaven's armies. These are righteous warriors, dressed in white. Awesome and pretty scary,. But dont worry, they arent there to wage war on us. They are waging war on the principalities and powers which have blighted our world for so long. Im not sure if we will get to witness any of this or if we shall go straight to the 'new heaven' which is coming up a future blog.
If what we have been shown so far is the 'old heaven' its impossible to imagine what heaven mark 2 might be like!!!
