Lent day 38

 A brief post today.

Last night Sam (eldest boy child) phoned to say he'd dislocated his knee. Ouch.  By the time I got there he had managed to pop it back in again, but he came home for some TLC and will probably need a hospital check up in the morning.

Dis-location. Literally being out of place. In the wrong location. Not where you are meant to be,

We are citizens of heaven. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places.  And yet we find ourselves living in this world which is so far removed from the glory and joy and wellbeing of home.  Its not surprising therefore that we should feel dislocated.  Dislocation is sore. Very sore. Bones and tissue are misaligned and strained and sometimes ligaments and tendons are stretched or broken. Medically dislocation can be serious. Spiritually it can be too.

Sam is currently doing RICE.  Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation .  This is helping with the pain.  Our pain will not be fully resolved until we are  re-located where we really belong - heaven.  In the meantime, to help ease that discomfort of not belonging, of being foreigners, maybe we need rest for our souls, refreshing for our spirits,  the binding of our wounds and the lifting of our eyes to Jesus

Please pray we dont have to spend too many hours in A&E today. Im going to pack sandwiches and take several flasks of coffee.  If I take the laptop I can probably write the blog too!!
